Sensor ID Registration Procedure
• The sensors are able to be programmed by using one of the two following
methods.
• Tools required - A factory scan tool or equivalent and J-45295 activation tool
A. Sensor Programming With Transmitter Activation
Tool
1. New sensors are shipped in sleep mode and must be awakened prior to
programming
2. Connect scan tool to vehicle diagnostic connector.
3. Select BCM function on “select system screen”
4. Select “AIR PRESSURE MONITOR” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
5. Select “WORK SUPPORT” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen, and select
“ID REGIST”.
6. Push transmitter activation tool against left front tire near sensor. Press the
button for 5 seconds.
7. The sensor IDs must be programmed in the following order. Left front, right
front, right rear, and left rear. When ID registration of each wheel has been
completed, a buzzer sounds and or the hazard warning lamps fl ash.
8. After completing all ID registrations, press “END” to complete procedure.
B. Sensor Programming Without
Transmitter Activation Tool
1. New sensors are shipped in sleep mode and must be awakened prior to
programming
2. Connect scan tool to vehicle diagnostic connector.
3. Select BCM function on “select system screen”
4. Select “AIR PRESSURE MONITOR” on “SELECT TEST ITEM” screen.
5. Select “WORK SUPPORT” on “SELECT DIAG MODE” screen, and select
“ID REGIST”.
6. Infl ate tires to values shown below for programming and drive vehicle at a
minimum speed of 25 mph for a few minutes.
• Front Left – 34psi
• Front Right – 31psi
• Rear Right – 29psi
• Rear Left – 26psi
7. After programming all sensors, press “END” to complete procedure.
8. Infl ate all tires to vehicle manufacturer specifi cations.
Sensor Wake Up Procedure
1. Turn ignition on and push transmitter activation tool against
left front tire near sensor. Press and hold button for 5 seconds. The hazard
lamps will fl ash
2. Repeat procedure for all 4 tires in the following order: left front, right front,
right rear, and left rear.
3. When the BCM fi nishes assigning each tire ID the BCM fl ashes hazard
lamps.
4. After completing wake up procedure of all sensors, verify that the low pressure
warning lamp goes out.
