2004 Mercury Mountaineer TPMS Reset Help

Do I need to use the trigger tool when resetting the tpms system after I had my tires rotated. The tpms light is on and I would like to know why and how to get rid of it.

Yes, or you can take it to a tire shop and they should be able to reset it with a TPMS tool.
